BRIC Foundation organized a workshop on entrepreneurship development on 27th of September in Assasuni Upazila of Sathkhira district in Bangladesh. Mr. Ahmad Mahmudur Raza Chowdhury (Ex- CSP), a retired official of the Bangladesh Government was the chief guest while Mr. Imran Ahmed Chowdhury, President of the BRIC Foundation was the special guest on the occasion. Al Hajj Abu Daud Dhali, Chairman of No. 10 Protapnagar Union Parishad presided over the workshop. The event was attended by 70 small Business entrepreneurs of the area.

BRIC Foundation is providing interest free loan to small entrepreneurs mostly in Assasuni Upazila from 2024. Entrepreneurs include small poultry farms, fish farms, small grocery shops, small vegetable retailers and alike. Historically a large portion of the profit of these small entrepreneurs used to go towards interest servicing. Now the interest free loan from BRIC Foundation is helping the beneficiaries to improve the profit margins thereby facilitating the growth of small business. BRIC Foundation's interest free loan is repayable in 40 months with an initial grace period of 3 months. Under this scheme, small entrepreneurs return 2.5% of the loan every month beginning at the end of first 3 months of grace period.


Mr. Raza Chowdhury gave a motivational speech, inspiring the small entrepreneurs to work hard with sincerity and honesty to develop their ventures. He also explained the vision of BRIC Foundation and what it stands for. He also committed to stand by the entrepreneurs to further expand their businesses. He reiterated the importance of developing new productive ideas to improve self-sufficiency in food production of the area. He informed that the foundation looked forward to further intensifying social, economic and community-based activities in Protapnagar Union to reach benefit of development to more households.

BRIC Foundation President Mr. Imran Ahmed Chowdhury expressed his commitment to the local entrepreneurs and committed to increase the support to more and more entrepreneurs. Mr. Imran also thanked Al Hajj Abu Daud Dhali for his help in carrying out the activities of the foundation in the local area.

Mr. Maksudur Rahman, retired additional secretary of Bangladesh Government gave details of the voluntary works being carried out by the foundation in the locality. As a son of the soil, he thanked the foundation for all the initiaitives that the foundation has undertaken.

Al Hajj Abu Daud Dhali, in his concluding speech, thanked the foundation for its support towards extricating the less fortunate people of the locality from poverty and social backwardness. He hoped that the bondage between BRIC and the people of Protapnagar will further strengthen in days to come.
