WHO WE ARE

BRIC (Building Resilient Individuals & Communities) Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental, voluntary humanitarian organization based in Bangladesh, established in 2025. We are a group of volunteers with diverse experience and background with a common objective of uplifting our citizens by improving quality of life and access to education while eradicating poverty and reducing income inequality. We know that we cannot do this alone, so we strive to connect and work with like-minded organizations and stakeholders in this endeavor.

WHAT WE DO

BRIC FOUNDATION aspires to work in the areas of Education, Health, Entrepreneurship Development to improve the quality of life and alleviate poverty. We will be working along with Government and non-Government organizations (NGO), as well as private sector stakeholders, as and when required to achieve our goals.

VISION

We dream to give something back to the society.

LONG TERM GOALS

We believe in the five basic human needs: food, clothing, shelter, education, and health. We will concentrate on the following key areas for our long term goals :

01. Education – For a long term sustainable development of a nation, education is the key pillar of success. While we acknowledge that Education sector is huge and mostly funded/managed by the government organizations, we believe that there is scope for private sector voluntary organizations to work side by side with the government. We plan to put our efforts as we grow behind the following initiatives :

  • To establish, run and promote, schools, colleges, vocational / technical Institutes, and assist in the development of education in the country.
  • To provide formal and non-formal education to people in both rural and urban areas for unskilled personnel through skillful training, education and development. These will include setting up computer training centers, workshops for welding, plumbing etc. in order to provide working skills and assist in career development.
  • To establish language centers in order to improve literacy and access to education, for both local and aspiring emigrants.
  • To provide funds to existing schools in order to purchase supplies and set up facilities such as libraries, computer labs, learning support, etc.
  • To provide scholarships and stipends at a rural and national level for poor and meritorious students to help them to continue their studies.

02. Improve quality of life through improved Sanitation and housing – While Bangladesh has made significant progress in most of the human indexes over the last few decades, and is ahead of its south Asian neighbors, the journey is long and needs to walk miles. We plan to work with other Government and non government organizations to have our inputs in this huge sector as well.

  • To improve existing water supplies and increase access to clean water through initiatives such as deep tube wells and other community assets.
  • To improve public sanitation by building community toilets and other facilities for public access, while educating and assisting in making an environment-friendly sanitation system.
  • To advise and assist on building low cost and environment friendly housing for safe and long-term use.

03. Environmental development – We don’t live in isolation. While the developed world has benefited hugely in the last century by polluting the mother nature by unplanned industrialization and use of fossil fuel, we are facing the brunt of their actions. We are at the receiving end of many natural disasters every year. We need

  • To work on the common people to improve awareness of the effect of environment
  • To help improve environment by engaging with different authorities.
  • Engage in tree plantations across the country and in coastal areas.
  • Improve awareness about the danger of usage of plastic and work with local authorities to restrict the usage.

04. Achieving Self sufficiency / Entrepreneurship Development – Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world with overcrowded cities driven by the concentration of jobs across key cities. Unless this migration of poor laborers from remote villages to the cities is  stopped / controlled, cities will become unleavable and will bring human and environmental disasters.  Its not possible for the government to create jobs for such a huge population alone across the country. While private commercial sector has a huge role, we believe we can play a role by

  • Create awareness across mass population to develop self sufficiency and independence.
  • Encouraging and supporting small scale production and service sector development across remote areas of Bangladesh.

05. Social / Community Development – We believe in the role of community and society in the development of a nation. The fabric of a nation is built during the infancy of a human being and the community around the baby plays a huge part. Moral, ethical and religious values built during childhood plays a significant role as the person enters into active role in the society. We want to participate in bringing back the values lost in last few decades by

  • Engaging with communities to bring fellow feelings in the society.
  • Develop multi purpose centers in the inner cities/villages to promote art, culture and sports.
  • To help build religious institutions like Mosques to bring back good religious values etc.

SHORT TERM GOALS

BRIC Foundation got its official registration in 2025. But its founding members were actively involved in social work for a long period and have done various community development and assistance works for last decade. Some of those works are documented here for the sake of continuity purposes.

We understand our limitations in achieving our long term goals. While we prepare ourselves for the long journey, we will actively involve in some of the following short term activities:

  1. Support education programs in various educational institutes by providing Stipends and scholarships to students, providing computers to the schools
  2. Improve Sanitation and Water projects – Depending on the need and our ability, we will build Deep tubewells and common hygienic bathrooms.
  3. Depending on the ability of the foundation, we will build/improve houses for the poor villagers
  4. Emergency support initiatives
    • Natural Disaster Relief – Flood/cyclone relief
    • Food relief during special times of the year.
    • Winter blanket support
